MPCF: Half-Day Online Mindfulness Workshop

In this time of fear due to the spreading of the coronavirus, the mindfulness practice is one of the most effective tools that brings us back to a place of peace and solidity.

Since the facility that we are using to offer the monthly mindfulness workshop is closed for health and safety concerns about COVID-19, we would like to offer a half-day online mindfulness workshop. We will learn and practice the art of mindful living as an online community in the comfort and safety of our own homes. Please read the MPCF's message "Mindfulness Meditation: A Practice that Gives us a Deeper Level of Protection Against Harmful Viruses" to understand the benefits of mindfulness meditation in this challenging time.

To participate in the online workshop, you will need a desktop, laptop, iPad, tablet or smart phone running the Zoom Video Conferencing software. Click here for installation instructions for the software. A webcam and a microphone are required for the video meeting. Otherwise, you can join the workshop by phone.

Dress comfortably, and choose a quiet place in your home for the following practices:

- sitting meditation: on chair, bench or cushion;
- guided deep relaxation: yoga mat, pillow and blanket for lying down;
- walking meditation: a clear space behind your seat for slow mindful walking.

Please prepare your lunch the day before. We will have about 10 minutes to get the food ready before lunch.

Suggested contribution: from $20 to $50
If you cannot afford $20, we still encourage you to attend the workshop and appreciate whatever you can give. We deeply appreciate more generous contributions since they will support our teachers as they dedicate their lives to teaching and sharing the art of mindful living with us.
